About The Countertops These countertops are constructed with a hand-applied finish using natural pigments on concrete veneer. They were then top-coated with an ultra clear commercial-grade epoxy for a seamless finish. It is a synthetic sealed surface. Some of the advantages include being antibacterial, food grade, stain resistant, and shock resistant. Concrete veneer and epoxy are also extremely durable and easy to maintain. No further sealing is necessary. It is stain, heat, and sunlight resistant. The color will not fade or change from wear and tear. Although epoxy is a strong material, direct heat and sharp objects should be avoided as they could cause damage. Use of a trivet is recommended. The epoxy layer will not chip. With natural wear there will be some scratching, but years later, or as often as desired, an additional layer of epoxy may be poured. The surface will look brand new again because the new layer will blend and meld with the previous layer. The original layer is 1/8" thick, but can be poured again and again up to 1.5" if necessary.
